Description

Polaris Ultra Flux Core Wire – .035" Self-Shielded FCAW for Structural and Heavy Equipment Welding - 2lb Spool

Product Description

Rugged, reliable flux-core welding—no gas required.
Polaris Ultra Flux Core .035" is a self-shielded, all-position flux-core wire built for structural steel, heavy equipment, tanks, and field repairs. Designed for harsh conditions and out-of-position welding, it produces x-ray quality welds with low spatter, smooth transfer, and excellent arc stability—even in drafts.

With a tensile strength of 95,000 psi and 28% elongation, Polaris Ultra Flux Core is ideal for maintenance and fabrication environments where shielding gas isn’t feasible. It handles rust, oil, and mill scale thanks to built-in deoxidizers and is perfect for use with suitcase wire feeders.

Key Features

  • Diameter: .035" (0.88mm)
  • Voltage: 11–20 volts
  • Amperage: 60–200 amps
  • Stick-out: 1/8" to 1/2"
  • Tensile strength: 95,000 psi
  • Elongation: 28%
  • Self-shielded – no external gas required
  • Excellent for vertical up or down welding
  • Easy slag removal and smooth spray transfer
  • Straight polarity (DCEN) required
  • Available in 2lb, 10 lb and 33 lb spools

Recommended Applications

  • Structural steel and tank welding
  • Heavy equipment and machinery repair
  • Railroad car and track welding
  • Outdoor or draft-prone environments
  • Fabrication with mild, medium, or high-carbon steels

Best Practices

  • Use DCEN (straight polarity)
  • Clean surface when possible, though flux handles light contaminants
  • Maintain proper stick-out distance (1/8"–1/2")
  • Apply Gemini Anti-Spatter Spray to protect contact tip and nozzle
