Description

Cantesco Ceramic Anti-Spatter 16oz

CRM-16-A

Designed and developed to prevent spatter build-up on Welding equipment and substrates such as MIG tips, nozzles, fixtures and jigs. CANTESCO® Ceramic Anti-Spatter provides long lasting protection; a single coating provides protection for up to eight “consecutive” hours of welding. Unlike formulations that stay liquid after application, CANTESCO® Ceramic Anti-Spatter dries to form a solid, durable coating, ensuring that anti-spatter residues do
not drip into the weld to cause contamination or porosity. Cleans off easily with common solvents.

COMPOSITION

CANTESCO® Ceramic Anti-Spatter is boron nitride based protective coating with a fast drying carrier/binder mixture. The product is silicon and halogen free.

What is the difference between Ceramic, Water-based, and Surfactant Anti-Spatter sprays?

Ceramic anti-spatter, water-based anti-spatter, and surfactant anti-spatter are all types of products used in welding to prevent spatter buildup on welding equipment and workpieces, but they have different compositions and mechanisms of action.

  1. Ceramic Anti-Spatter: Ceramic anti-spatter is typically a liquid or spray containing ceramic particles suspended in a carrier fluid. When applied to welding equipment or workpieces, the ceramic particles create a protective barrier that prevents spatter from adhering to surfaces. Ceramic anti-spatter is often preferred for its effectiveness in preventing spatter buildup and its durability, as it can withstand high temperatures without breaking down.

  2. Water-Based Anti-Spatter: Water-based anti-spatter products are solutions that primarily consist of water and various additives, such as surfactants and corrosion inhibitors. When applied, the water-based anti-spatter forms a thin film on the surfaces, which helps to repel spatter. These products are typically non-toxic and environmentally friendly, but may not be as effective as ceramic anti-spatter in high-heat welding applications.

  3. Surfactant Anti-Spatter: Surfactant anti-spatter contains surfactants, which are chemicals that reduce the surface tension of a liquid. When applied to welding equipment or workpieces, surfactant anti-spatter forms a thin film that prevents spatter from sticking to surfaces. Surfactant anti-spatter products are often used as a cost-effective solution for preventing spatter buildup, but may not provide as long-lasting protection as ceramic anti-spatter.
