Red dye, solvent removable penetrant indicates surface flaws against white developer
powder background. No chlorinated solvents, meets requirements of ASME section V
halogen and chloride content requirements. It is recommended that both ambient and
substrate temperatures are between 40°F (4°C) and 125°F (52°C) for dye penetrant
inspection.

What is Visible Dye Penetrant and how it is used in welding inspections?

Visible dye penetrant is a type of liquid penetrant used in welding inspections. It consists of a brightly colored dye solution that is applied to the surface of a weld or material being tested. The dye penetrates into surface defects such as cracks or pores. After a sufficient amount of time, excess dye is removed from the surface.
