Tartan Arc Welding Rods – Dirty, Rusty, and Contaminated Mild Steels (SMAW) - 2lb Tube
Product Description:
The maintenance welder’s best friend.
Tartan Arc Rods are the go-to choice for challenging conditions—painted, rusted, oily, or wet steel. With excellent puddle visibility, ultra-low spatter, and stable performance even when wet, Tartan rods outperform standard 6010 and 6011 options. Designed for mild to medium carbon steels, they’re ideal for field repairs, service trucks, farms, and marine maintenance.
Key Features – Tartan AAA:
- 86,000 psi tensile strength
- 28% elongation for crack resistance
- Moisture-resistant flux, even welds through water
- Triple deoxidized deposit
- Excellent puddle control and visibility
- Low spatter, clean slag release
- Runs vertical up/down, overhead, or flat
- Can be used with short to medium arc, 15º–20º tilt
- Welds well even when rod is wet
Also Available – Tartan A & Tartan B:
- Tartan A: Easy-to-use 80,000 psi general-purpose rod, ideal for low alloy steels and thin/poor fit-ups.
