Description

Orion B Arc Welding Rods – Chromium-Free Boron Carbide Hardfacing Electrodes for Extreme Abrasion (SMAW) - 2lb Tube

Product Description

Maximum abrasion resistance in a single pass.
Orion B rods are engineered for hardfacing components exposed to severe abrasion with light to moderate impact. These chromium-free electrodes use boron carbide in a martensitic matrix to achieve a surface hardness of 65–69 RC with just one layer.

With smooth arc control, 90% deposition efficiency, and the ability to cut the finished surface with a torch, Orion B provides exceptional wear protection for crushers, augers, impellers, and agricultural implements. For best results, build up using Apollo A or Polaris A before applying Orion B as a top layer.

Key Features

  • Deposits hardness: 65–69 RC (single pass)
  • Chromium-free boron carbide alloy
  • Superior resistance to abrasion with light/moderate impact
  • Smooth running with 90% deposition efficiency
  • Surface can be torch-cut
  • Ideal for high-wear surfaces in industrial and agricultural use
  • AC, DC, or DCEP compatible

Packaging & Sizes

  • Electrode length: 14"
  • Sold in 2lb, 5 lb, or 11 lb plastic tubes
