Description
Lincoln Electric Outback 185 Engine-Driven Stick Welder/Generator
K2706-2
The Lincoln Electric Outback 185 is a compact engine-driven DC Stick welder and AC generator designed for service trucks, fence contractors, maintenance crews, farms and ranches. Stock number K2706-2 combines up to 185 amps of DC welding output with 5,700 watts peak and 5,200 watts continuous auxiliary AC generator power.
Welding output ranges from 50–185 amps DC. Rated output is 100 amps at 25 volts at 100% duty cycle, 130 amps at 25 volts at 60% duty cycle and 150 amps at 25 volts at 20% duty cycle. Maximum open-circuit voltage is 80V RMS.
The Outback 185 is built around a Kohler CH440 single-cylinder, four-cycle, air-cooled gasoline engine rated at 14 hp at 3,600 rpm. Electric start is standard, with recoil start backup, automatic low-oil shutdown and automatic engine idling to reduce fuel consumption, engine wear and noise.
The generator provides 120/240V, 60 Hz single-phase AC power. Two 120V duplex receptacles provide up to 40 amps total continuous output, while the 240V receptacle supplies up to 21.6 amps continuous output. All receptacles are circuit-breaker protected and include weather-resistant covers.
A 6.8-gallon fuel tank supports extended run time, while Lincoln's Low-Lift grab bars and rugged 1-1/4 in. tube frame improve portability and protect the machine when loading, unloading and transporting it. The welder supports electrodes up to 5/32 in.
